If you were approved for a federal tax extension, then the State of Georgia will automatically grant you a 6-month state tax extension. An extension of time for filing may be granted in certain circumstance by filing Form IT-303 (PDF).

Filing a Georgia tax extension will not grant you extra time to pay any tax balance due. Your balance must be paid by April 15 to avoid possible penalties. Use Form IT-560 (PDF) to make any tax payments. Attach a copy of your federal extension to your tax return when filed or a state extension will not be granted.

If your business was approved for a federal tax extension, then the State of Georgia will automatically grant your business a six month business income tax extension. Extensions of time for filing may be granted in cases of sickness, absence, or other disability or whenever reasonable cause exists by filing Form IT-303 (PDF). If your business has any outstanding tax balance due, you'll need to submit a Georgia tax extension payment voucher IT-560C. Attach a copy of your extension form to your tax return when filed.

Filing a Georgia tax extension does not grant you extra time to pay any tax balance due. Your balance must be paid by your original filing deadline to avoid possible penalties.

If you already received an approval notification from ExpressExtension, and you don't need to make a tax payment, then you're all done.
